You and me, we're going places... Both literally and figuratively, I think! <3
Last "full week" (all two days of it) of classes this week. UA ends school next Monday for some reason, so I have class then, too. I'm procrastinating from working on my 10-page paper, of which I only have six done, which is due on Tuesday. After that all I really have to do is do a quick presentation on the NYS Museum, finish my web design project, and do a take-home exam for my filing cabinet class. I think the web design is going to be the most time-consuming, but also the most fun, which is schwing!
Arctic Monkeys is coming up NEXT WEEK!!! And Jess is coming to the city, all the way from Buffalo, this Saturday. Throw in an abundance of good times with all my friends and The Mop, his birthday (so excited to bake his birthday cake!), Christmas, and New Year's... December will be pretty awesome. Potential job at the local public library is in the works, too. Sending in my application for the summer internship at The Met this week as well -- I'm hoping Harvey and Irene's recommendations will be the breaking factor for me.
I saw Brand New and other trendy Long Island bands last night. I felt like I was back in high school... lots of young, rich white people standing around in expensive clothing with negative body language and scowls on their faces. Sunglasses over the eyes and hoods up over the heads, more Urban Outfitter outfits than one could ever need and the constant feeling of being judged was all abundant. The music was good, not so much stuff I would listen to on a day-to-day basis, but Thrice, Glassjaw and Brand New all sounded great live. The crowd was really rough, though, especially towards the end of Brand New's set. Sometimes I think the dude bros forget there are tiny girls in the crowd who can't handle being crushed between sweaty men very well (interpret that poorly-worded sentence as you will). I was miserable by the end of it because I got kicked in the head, knocked down on the ground and punched in the side of the head... all during the last song! Thankfully KF was more or less my protective shell when he wasn't groping girls who conveniently rubbed up against him, but I'm pretty sure I've got some bruises left over from it all. Good prep for Arctic Monkeys, though. Their shows are apparently cuh-ray-zay.
Enough rambling. Must get back to writing about management in knowledge organizations for SBUX 101.
